Let Exercise be your cure
In the world that we are in today, there is a constant sales pitch for take this or that pill to cure your depression or anxiety or other normal mental conditions. We all feel and face trials and tribulations in our life and it is normal to go through phases where you don’t feel like you are one hundred percent. But in my opinion that doesn’t mean that you have to resort to a pill to help you.
The magic bullet in my opinion for helping alleviate a lot of our mental worries and concerns is exercise and nutrition. I believe that if you know and research enough on certain supplements, nutrients, and exercises it can teach you a whole lot on how to control your emotions a little bit better.
I am not selling a “cure all” and if you exercise and eat healthy, that you will never feel anxious, depressed, or hurt again. But what I am selling you is there is a healthy alternative that is in my opinion much stronger than any pill you could ever take.
Weight Lifting, Depression, and Anxiety
There have been studies where weight lifting especially heavy weight lifting increases your neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin. These neurotransmitters are chemicals in the brain that regulate mood and the reward system. These two neurotransmitters are the same two neurotransmitters that most anti depressant and anti anxiety medications try to provide. I would rather choose the healthier more natural option of treating my stress and anxieties instead of choosing a pill that may cause other health problems.
Nutrition and it’s effects on moods
Foods have the opportunity to fix many problems in our bodies or prevent them which is an even better approach. What we eat plays a role in how effective our bodies become when doing it’s daily functions such as giving us energy and allowing us to think clearly.
Sometimes when your diet is not exactly where it needs to be it can cause havoc in your body. If you are eating a diet too high in processed foods it is possible that you are not getting the essential vitamins and minerals necessary to be “happy”.
Did you know that by eating fish and/or taking fish oils that it can help with your depression and moods? Studies have shown that it can help with ADHD and other mental health scenarios.
Sugar and anxiety
Did you know that if you suffer from anxiety problems or if you have a tendency to have anxiety that lowering your sugar in your diet can make a tremendous difference on how severe the anxiety symptoms are?
